About Us

The idea for NeighborhoodName.com was born back in 2002. My wife and I had grown tired of apartment living and started our search for a home. We began our initial search in the real estate section of the Sunday paper. The paper was filled with hundreds of  listings that included  names of neighborhoods, agent names and phone numbers (a few listed the agents email address).

What peeked my interest was how often the names of  neighborhoods were mentioned throughout the real estate section. Many of the ads featured the neighborhood name as the header in bold text. These listings really stood out to us as we scanned the classifieds.

As much as I liked these enhanced ads…there was still much to be desired. The bold headers were great but the property descriptions were often very vague, featured no pictures, and required you to call the agent. We called several of these agents and made appointments to view properties.  Arriving at many of the appointments, we knew immediately that these were not the homes for us. What a waste of time! I thought that there has to be a better way.

These smart agents were using neighborhood names in their ads for a reason. Why? Because most potential buyers have an idea of the neighborhoods in which they would like to live. When these buyers searched the classifieds, the enhanced neighborhood listings stood out.

That’s when the idea was born. Why not use neighborhood names as websites?  Agents and homeowners could showcase their properties online with large photos and detailed property descriptions. Interested buyers would be able view homes in desired neighborhoods before contacting the agents. This would be a huge time saver for both the agent and the buyer.

It’s taken me many years to finally put this idea into motion.  Thanks to advances in technology, we’re on the verge of launching the areas largest “neighborhood-focused” real estate marketing network.
